As the recording industry has moved to cassette, CD and now MP3 formats, vinyl and plastic albums have fallen out of use. Due to the changing environment, more and more owners are discarding their albums or leaving it to nonprofit used goods retail stores who in turn themselves are left with the massive surplus of vinyl albums in the hundreds, if not thousands. If these albums are not reused or recycled, they will contribute to the increasing amounts of non-biodegradable items in landfills.
The label of le'album puts a new spin on eco-chic with their line of recycled fashion forward handbags constructed from original vinyl albums.
